Impact Scale is hiring a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and execution! As a performance marketing company that builds and operates its own platforms and processes hundreds of thousands of visits, clicks, and leads daily, this role is critical to our operations and growth. The CTO will oversee all development and architecture, guide a growing engineering team, and ensure our platforms scale reliably using modern, AI-forward technologies.


Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the company-wide technology architecture, engineering and strategy aligned with business objectives

  • Own the architecture, reliability, scalability, and security of all internal platforms

  • Lead, mentor and review code for a team of engineers by setting clear standards for code quality, delivery, and collaboration

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple platforms, from planning and development through deployment and maintenance

  • Guide build vs buy decisions and manage technical debt strategically

  • Champion the use of AI-forward tools for coding, testing, deployment, and internal automation

  • Remain hands-on enough to review architecture, unblock engineers, and validate key technical decisions

  • Establish and maintain best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response

  • Collaborate closely with leadership, marketing, and operations to translate business needs into technical solutions

  • Ensure strong security practices, access controls, and data protection across all systems

  • Improve development velocity and platform stability through process, tooling, and automation

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5 years in a senior technical leadership role

  • Proven experience leading and scaling internal engineering teams

  • Strong background in modern web architectures, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and distributed systems

  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and modern DevOps practices

  • Experience owning and supporting multiple production platforms simultaneously

  • Ability to balance strategic planning with practical, execution-focused leadership

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment
