Impact Scale is a fast-growing fintech and performance marketing company revolutionizing how lead generation and data monetization work. With proven products and bold ambitions, we're building the infrastructure to own and scale our internal lead platforms, AI-driven tools, and proprietary tech. We're looking for a visionary CTO who’s not just a builder, but a system-level thinker who can scale technology, lead teams, and architect the future of our platform.

The Role:

As CTO, you’ll be the strategic and technical leader of Impact Scale. You’ll work closely with the founders and leadership team to build scalable systems, ship high-impact MVPs, and drive forward our AI and automation strategies. Equally important, you’ll be responsible for recruiting, leading, and scaling a high-performance engineering team. You’ll set the tone for our tech culture — one that values velocity, code quality, transparency, and ownership. This is a rare opportunity to shape not only the product but also the people and processes that bring it to life.

What You’ll Do:

• Own and architect our internal lead platforms, including event tracking, lead routing, and multi-channel delivery systems (SMS, email, AI voice).

• Design and scale backend infrastructure capable of processing tens of thousands of events daily with high reliability.

• Drive AI/LLM integration, working with tools like ChatGPT, Elevenlabs, Play AI, and third-party APIs to automate and enrich user workflows.

• Build and lead a world-class tech team — hiring, mentoring, and developing both contractors and full-time engineers as we transition to an in-house core.

• Establish Agile development processes, including daily standups, sprint planning, and retros, to maximize team velocity and clarity.

• Define team standards for code quality, documentation, and definition of done; ensure technical excellence through design reviews and peer collaboration.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices, enabling rapid iteration and safe deployments via tools like GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Docker.

• Ensure platform security and data governance with a compliance-first mindset (SOC 2, GDPR, etc.) baked into the development lifecycle.

• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Operations, ensuring alignment from roadmap to release.

• Shape our engineering culture with a strong emphasis on execution, autonomy, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven track record building and leading technical teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments (startups, SaaS, fintech, lead gen).

• Strong experience with backend development, preferably in Node.js, Python, or similar — and a strong understanding of API design, queuing systems, and cloud architecture.

• Familiarity with team scaling principles, including recruitment, onboarding, leveling, and performance development.

• Deep understanding of Agile principles, engineering velocity metrics, and iterative product development.

• Experience implementing and maintaining DevOps and infrastructure-as-code pipelines in a cloud-native environment.

• Passion for shipping fast, learning fast, and iterating in collaboration with design, product, and marketing teams.

• Comfort navigating both hands-on technical decisions and high-level architectural planning.

• You’re based in or near Vancouver, WA, and energized by leading in a hybrid environment.

Nice to Haves:

• Prior experience in credit, lending, compliance, or regulatory tech.

• Exposure to AI/ML product development or data science integration.

• Familiarity with Jira, Linear, or similar tools to manage engineering workflows and sprint execution.

• Background in venture-backed startup growth or building platforms from 0→1.
