We are seeking a highly tactical and leadership-driven Director of Technology to manage our day-to-day engineering operations, technical execution, and team development. While our executive team sets the overarching vision, you will be the operational bridge—translating that technical strategy into reliable software delivery, clean code architecture, and high-performing engineering squads.

You will manage our engineering managers, tech leads, and developers, establishing the processes and engineering standards required to build a highly predictable delivery engine as we scale.

Core Responsibilities

  • Engineering Delivery & Execution: Own the delivery lifecycle of our engineering organization, ensuring sprints are well-scoped, shipped on time, and meet strict quality standards.

  • Team Leadership & Management: Manage, mentor, and grow engineering managers and senior technical individual contributors, conducting performance reviews and mapping out career paths.

  • Process Optimization: Standardize and optimize our agile/scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, code review workflows, and testing protocols to maximize developer velocity and minimize technical debt.

  • System Integrity & Code Quality: Collaborate with architects to oversee day-to-day system architecture decisions, ensuring the platform remains modular, maintainable, and stable.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Product Managers and Designers to balance engineering capacity with product roadmap commitments and feature requirements.

  • Resource Allocation: Manage day-to-day engineering resource allocation, identifying bottlenecks in the team's capacity and optimizing hiring pipelines to fill skill gaps.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in engineering management roles (Engineering Manager, Director, or Head of Engineering) leading multi-disciplinary squads.

  • Execution Track Record: Proven success scaling internal engineering processes and managing the predictable delivery of cloud-native platforms.

  • Technical Roots: Strong foundational background as a former Senior Engineer, with the ability to deeply understand codebases, conduct technical code reviews, and guide architectural discussions.

  • Process Mastery: Deep expertise in modern software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, modern DevOps practices, and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear).

  • People Operations: Exceptional communication skills with a proven success managing teams that build high-throughput, low-latency APIs or large-scale data ingestion pipelines.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $ 185,000 per year (Dependent upon experience, expertise, and strategic value).

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages (Available following a standard 90-day introductory period).

  • Retirement: Corporate retirement savings plan options with a traditional 401(k) (Eligible after 90 days of continuous employment).

  • Time Off: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) allotment and observed holiday schedule.

  • Perks & Luxury Culture: Daily catered lunches, a fully stocked premium coffee and tea bar, unlimited snacks, and free garage parking. Employees also enjoy routine professional development opportunities within an elite, growth-driven leadership environment in Downtown Vancouver, WA.
